Editorial Policy

The standards behind every story on Celebrity Magazine: accuracy, fairness, independence and transparency.

Last updated: 24 September 2026

1. Our commitment to readers

Celebrity Magazine exists to give readers entertaining, reliable coverage of entertainment, celebrity culture and lifestyle. This policy sets out the standards our editors, writers and contributors follow so that you can trust what you read here.

2. Editorial independence

Our editorial decisions are made by our editorial team alone. Advertisers, sponsors, partners and the people we write about do not decide what we cover, how we cover it or what our reviews say. We do not accept payment in exchange for positive coverage or for removing fair and accurate reporting.

3. Accuracy and sourcing

  • We verify information before publishing, prioritising primary sources such as official statements, on-the-record interviews, court and public records, and verified accounts.
  • When we rely on another outlet’s reporting, we credit and link to it.
  • Social media posts are checked for authenticity, including whether an account is verified or official, before we report on them.
  • Quotes are reproduced accurately and in context. We never invent quotes or sources.
  • Statistics, studies and claims in health, money and technology articles are linked to credible sources.

4. Rumours and unconfirmed reports

Celebrity news often starts as speculation. When we report on a story that has not been confirmed, we say so clearly in the headline or opening paragraphs, explain where the claim comes from and, where possible, seek comment from the people involved or their representatives. We update the story when it is confirmed or denied.

5. Fairness and respect for privacy

The people we write about are real, and we treat them fairly. We:

  • give people a fair opportunity to respond to significant allegations before or promptly after publication;
  • avoid intruding on private grief, health, sexuality or family matters unless there is a genuine public interest;
  • take particular care with stories involving children, including the children of famous people, and do not publish content that could put a child at risk;
  • report on mental health, suicide, addiction and abuse responsibly, avoiding sensational detail and including support information where appropriate;
  • do not publish material obtained through hacking, deception or harassment.

6. Reviews and opinion

Reviews and opinion columns are clearly presented as the author’s view. Reviewers disclose if they received a product, ticket or trip free of charge, and such arrangements never guarantee a positive review.

7. Corrections and updates

When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly. Minor errors such as spelling are fixed without a note. Significant corrections to facts are acknowledged with a note at the end of the article explaining what changed. When a developing story is updated with new information, we show that the article has been updated.

To request a correction, email editor@celebritymagazine.nz or use our contact form and choose “Correction request”. Please include the article link and the specific error.

8. Sponsored content, advertising and affiliate links

Commercial content is always kept separate from editorial judgement and labelled so readers can see it clearly:

  • Sponsored or Partner content: content paid for by a brand, whether written by us or by the brand.
  • Guest post: an article written by an external contributor and edited by our team.
  • Affiliate links: links that may earn us a commission; articles containing them include a disclosure.

Links in sponsored and commercial content may carry sponsored or nofollow attributes in line with search engine guidelines.

9. Guest contributors

Guest contributors must follow this policy. We check submissions for originality and accuracy, edit them for clarity and house style, and credit contributors by name with a short bio. Contributors must disclose any conflicts of interest or commercial relationships connected with their article.

10. Images and credits

We use images that we own, have licensed, have permission to use or are otherwise permitted to use by law, and credit photographers and sources where possible. We do not alter news images in ways that mislead readers. Photo illustrations are identified as such.

11. Use of artificial intelligence

Our team may use AI tools to help with tasks such as research, transcription, headline ideas or proofreading. Every article is written or thoroughly reviewed and edited by a person, who is responsible for its accuracy. We do not publish AI-generated images of real people presented as genuine, and we never use AI to fabricate quotes, events or sources.

12. Complaints and feedback

We welcome feedback. If you have a concern about our coverage, contact editor@celebritymagazine.nz with the article link and a description of the issue. We will acknowledge your complaint, investigate it fairly and respond as promptly as we can.
